What we make

Smoulderhouse makes cozy-macabre games. Short, quiet things about tending to lonely places, lit windows kept burning, and the gentle warmth that survives the dark. The uncanny is real, but it's kindly — the dead are good company, the haunted house was only ever lonely. No fright. No rush. The kettle is always almost warm.

The voice

Calm. Unhurried. A little old-fashioned. Warm in the dark. We make games you'd want to come home to, not games you'd want to survive.

The house

Smoulderhouse is the warm wing of FXphoenix — one phoenix, two doors. The other door is Rise with FXphoenix, where the same hands tend a different kind of fire. Every Smoulderhouse game carries the same line: from FXphoenix. The form changes; the soul does not.
